How We Diagnose Hard-to-Find Noises

Step 1: Road Force Test

We drive the car to replicate the noise variables. Does it clunk on rebound (Struts)? Click at full lock (CV Axles)? Or wander during braking (Control Arm Bushings)?

Step 2: Steering Isolation

With the vehicle lifted, we perform the "3-and-9" test to check for inner/outer tie rod play and the "12-and-6" test for wheel bearing failure.

Step 3: Bushing Stress Test

Using a large pry bar, we apply force to the control arm bushings to simulate chassis torque. We find deep rubber separation that is invisible during a visual check.

Step 4: Loaded Joint Check

Unloaded testing often misses failed ball joints. We compress the suspension to simulate ride height, catching joints that only "pop" under the vehicle's weight.

Step 5: Drivetrain Check

We inspect sway bar end links for play and verify CV axle boots are intact. We often disconnect end links to isolate the noise source completely.

Common Suspension Questions

Do you perform wheel alignments?

Yes. We coordinate the alignment process for you using our trusted third-party partners. You drop your car off with us for the suspension repairs, and we handle the logistics of the alignment so you only have to make one trip.

Why is my car making a clunking noise over bumps?

Clunking noises usually indicate worn suspension components such as strut mounts, sway bar links, or ball joints. We inspect these key components during our 45-Point Inspection.

Can you fix Death Wobble on my Jeep or Truck?

Yes. We specialize in diagnosing the root cause of Death Wobble, which is often a combination of a loose track bar, worn steering dampener, or bad drag links. We fix the issue at the source.
